XVI International Scientific and Practical Conference «TECHNOVOD–2025»

From April 22 to 25, 2025, «TECHNOVOD-2025» once again brought together participants in the capital of Tatarstan – Kazan. This region demonstrates a strong commitment to addressing water treatment challenges, underscored by an ongoing, targeted program for the ecological restoration of the Volga River.

The conference took on special significance, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – a landmark event in the history of Russia. Many scientists from the Soviet Union and Russia, who were also veterans of that war, went on to make significant contributions to restoring and advancing the country's water sector in the postwar era.

The conference aimed to facilitate an exchange of experience and discuss emerging trends in water supply and wastewater management for both municipal water utilities and industrial sectors. Key discussion topics included:

Water management systems: problems and solutions for integrated water use.
Enhancing efficiency in the technical regulation, design, construction, and operation of water and sewage infrastructure.
Improving the technological and environmental-economic efficiency of water treatment facilities.
Improving the technological and environmental-economic efficiency of wastewater treatment facilities.
Commissioning of new technologies, materials, and equipment.

A collection of scientific papers was published alongside the conference, highlighting key research trends from leading Russian academic schools. Indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), the volume brings together contributions from researchers across Russia– Novocherkassk, Saint Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh, Moscow, Makiivka, Khabarovsk, Kazan, and Volgograd – as well as international authors from Burundi and Egypt.

Featuring 50 papers based on presentations by 77 participants, the collection includes analytical, research, applied, and review studies. It is designed for water sector professionals – scientists, engineers, facility managers, project coordinators, and design engineers working in water supply and wastewater treatment – as well as technical staff at companies supplying equipment and chemical reagents for water treatment applications.
